I don’t want my family to find out. Is there somewhere I can go without it being a big deal?

Yes. Government hospitals run STI clinics (often called Suraksha clinics) and ICTC centres for HIV testing, and these are usually free and confidential. You can also see a gynaecologist, urologist or skin and STI specialist (dermatologist-venereologist) privately. Call the national AIDS helpline on 1097 to find a centre near you. Tell the doctor honestly about any symptoms and risks so they test for the right things. They’ve heard it all before.
