My partner checks my phone every day. Is that normal?
They say it’s because they love me, but it makes me uncomfortable.

Feeling uncomfortable is worth listening to. Checking your phone every day, wanting your passwords or controlling who you talk to isn’t a sign of love; it’s a red flag for controlling behaviour. In healthy relationships people trust each other and have privacy. If you feel safe doing so, tell them how it makes you feel and what your boundaries are. If you feel scared, pressured or threatened, talk to someone you trust or call the women’s helpline on 181. You deserve to feel safe.
